Inactive archives are archives that are rarely used but still have administrative, legal, and financial use value, so they must be stored systematically. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results showed that the management of inactive archives in the agency has not run optimally. The problems found include the absence of standard operating procedures (SOPs), low competence of human resources, limited storage facilities and infrastructure, and the absence of a digitalbased archival information system. In addition, the archive classification process has not yet referred to the Office Manuscript and the selection of inactive archives is not carried out based on the analysis of the use value of the archives. The organization of archives is also not systematic and not in accordance with ideal archival principles. Therefore, strategic efforts are needed in the form of drafting internal policies, training human resources, procuring supporting facilities, and implementing information technology to support professional and accountable archive management according to national standards.
2025-07-02T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://www.rjfahuinib.org/index.php/almaarif/article/view/2312ANALISIS PEMANFAATAN E-RESOURCE DALAM PENINGKATAN MINAT BACA MAHASISWA DI PERPUSTAKAAN UNIVERSITAS ANDALAS2025-07-02T19:04:55+07:00Anissa April Yuliantianissaaprilyulianti@gmail.comShinta Nofita Sarishinta.nofita.sari@uinib.ac.id
The development of information and communication technology has significantly transformed various aspects of life, including the provision and utilization of information sources in higher education institutions. Libraries, as centers of learning resources, are required to adapt to these changes, one of which is through the provision of electronic resources (e-resources). This study aims to analyze how the utilization of e-resources services at the University of Andalas Library contributes to increasing students' reading interest. Within the field of library and information science, the preservation of such local knowledge demands a literacy strategy that goes beyond technical skills to include critical, collaborative, and ethical thinking, as promoted by the metaliteracy framework. This study aims to explore the transformation of tacit knowledge through the documentation of Minangkabau oral traditions using a metaliteracy approach as a strategy for preserving cultural information. The research employs a qualitative methodology with an ethnographic design, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and content analysis of oral expressions such as kaba, pantun, and pepatah-petitih. The findings indicate that integrating metaliteracy into the documentation process not only enhances the quality of cultural information management but also empowers local communities to serve as both producers and curators of knowledge. Collaborative and reflective documentation practices enable oral traditions to be transformed into accessible information resources across generations and media platforms. The study concludes that the metaliteracy approach plays a crucial role in fostering adaptive and inclusive documentation practices in library and information science, particularly in preserving local knowledge. It recommends strengthening community-based information literacy capacities as a sustainable strategy for maintaining the continuity of Minangkabau oral heritage.
2025-07-02T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://www.rjfahuinib.org/index.php/almaarif/article/view/2316STRATEGI PRESERVASI PENGETAHUAN TRADISIONAL MINANGKABAU MELALUI DIGITALISASI TRADISI LISAN DI PERPUSTAKAAN PERGURUAN TINGGI2025-07-02T19:28:51+07:00Aisyah Aminiminieaisyah1313@gmail.comFadhila Nurul Husna Zalminurilzalmi@uinib.ac.id
Traditional Minangkabau knowledge—such as pepatah-petitih (proverbs), kaba (epic tales), and traditional pantun— represents a cultural heritage that has long been transmitted orally across generations. However, modernization, shifting lifestyles, and the weakening of customary practices have placed this knowledge at risk of extinction. University libraries hold a strategic role as knowledge management institutions in adopting digital technology to document and preserve oral traditions. This article aims to answer the question: what strategies can be applied by university libraries to preserve traditional Minangkabau knowledge through the digitization of oral traditions? This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method at Islamic university libraries in West Sumatra. Data collection techniques include interviews with librarians, observation of documentation activities, and analysis of policy documents and local digital cultural content. The findings reveal that effective strategies involve collaboration among librarians, lecturers, students, and local community members. Digitization activities are carried out through oral narrative collection, audio-visual recording, metadata management, and publication via institutional repositories and open-access digital platforms. Challenges encountered include limited technology, lack of documentation standards, and ethical concerns related to cultural publication. The study concludes that digitizing oral traditions can be an effective strategy for knowledge preservation when supported by institutional policies, digital-cultural literacy training, and collaboration among stakeholders. University libraries serve not only as knowledge repositories but also as facilitators of local cultural preservation within the digital ecosystem.
2025-07-02T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://www.rjfahuinib.org/index.php/almaarif/article/view/2317DIGITAL STORYTELLING SEBAGAI METODE CAPTURE PENGETAHUAN ADAT MINANG: PELUANG DAN TANTANGAN DI ERA 5.02025-07-02T19:34:16+07:00Velly Afria Madiafriamadivelly@gmail.comFadhila Nurul Husna Zalminurilzalmi@uinib.ac.id
The digital transformation in the era of Society 5.0 encourages the integration of technology with cultural preservation, including efforts to sustain Minangkabau indigenous knowledge traditionally passed down orally. Local wisdom such as pepatah-petitih (proverbs), kaba (epic tales), and pantun (poetic expressions) represents forms of tacit knowledge that are at risk of disappearing due to generational gaps and the lack of systematic documentation. This article explores two key questions: how can digital storytelling (DST) function as a knowledge capture method for Minangkabau traditional knowledge, and what are the opportunities and challenges involved in this process? This study uses a qualitative approach, including literature review, reflective analysis, and case studies of cultural narrative digitization initiatives within local communities and academic libraries. Findings indicate that DST is effective in transforming oral knowledge into digital formats that are both communicative and participatory, especially through the involvement of youth, librarians, and traditional leaders. Major opportunities include community collaboration and the use of digital platforms such as YouTube, institutional repositories, and social media. However, challenges include technological limitations, metadata standardization, and cultural sensitivity in documentation. This study concludes that digital storytelling can serve as a bridge between technology and tradition, provided that it is supported by information literacy policies, community training, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. The model offers strong potential to sustain Minangkabau indigenous knowledge in an increasingly digital and global context.
2025-07-02T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 https://www.rjfahuinib.org/index.php/almaarif/article/view/2318PEMANFAATAN REPOSITORY PERGURUAN TINGGI UNTUK MENUNJANG PENELUSURAN DAN TEMU KEMBALI INFORMASI MAHASISWA AL MA’ARIF : JURNAL ILMU PERPUSTAKAAN DAN INFORMASI ISLAM 20242025-07-02T19:40:36+07:00Rosniar Daulayrosniardaulay12@gmail.comSelvia Yunita Hamdaniselviayunita160@gmail.comLailatur Rahmilailaturrahmi@uinib.ac.id
Information retrieval constitutes a fundamental aspect in supporting academic activities at higher education institutions. This study aims to analyze the community curation model applied by the Boen Tek Bio Association in sustaining the traditions, rituals, oral histories, and cultural expressions of the Cina Benteng community in Tangerang, Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach and case study method, data were collected through structured interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis was employed to identify patterns of curation, community participation dynamics, and factors influencing the sustainability of intangible cultural practices. The findings reveal that the curation of intangible heritage at Boen Tek Bio is conducted through the preservation of traditional rituals such as Gotong Toapekong and Peh Cun, the transmission of mythological stories, and the revitalization of traditional performing arts such as folk songs with Chinese-Malay influences. Active community involvement across generations, organizational support structures, and the limited adaptation to digital technology are key factors in maintaining these traditions. The main challenges identified include the lack of intergenerational cultural knowledge transfer and the decreasing interest among younger generations due to modernization. This study underscores the importance of participatory and community-based curation models in preserving intangible cultural heritage and highlights the potential of developing digital curation strategies as an adaptive response for the future.
2025-07-02T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025
